There is so much turmoil in our world. People are suffering so much loss both here and abroad. It seems there are so many natural disasters now that you can expect there to be a new one when you look at the headlines for each new day. We are definitely living in a time when “men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming upon the earth…” Lk. 21:26. People realize that things aren’t right and they try to explain what’s happening in many various ways, but the fact of the matter is “…that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs…eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption…” Rom. 8:22, 23.
I’m so thankful for Jesus Christ, “for He Himself is our peace…” Eph. 2:14. In Him, we can have the, “…peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,” which “will guard your hearts and minds…” Phil. 4:7. Those same hearts that are failing others from fear are guarded for those who have faith in the Son of God. Why? Because, “we love Him because He first loved us”, and “perfect love casts out fear…” 1 Jn. 4:19, 18. If you’ve come to Jesus and seen what He has done for you, you come to realize you truly have nothing to fear. After all, “If God is for us, who can be against us…” what “shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword… death nor life, or angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 8:31,35,38,39. So, what do we have to fear?
